Job Opportunity – HR Regional Business Partner

Under the general direction and supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources the HR Regional Business Partner (HR RBP) leads and manages the people management related agenda at the local market level. The HR RBP leads the change management projects and manages the HR related internal and external communication. Acts as the local internal HR strategic consultant; and shares the responsibility for the goals and targets delivery. They are a trusted partner to senior leaders and an integral part of the regional leadership team. The role influences and steers strategy across the full generalist remit including Employee Relations, Resourcing and Talent Management, Learning and Development and Reward, Organization Design, Service Delivery & Information. This strategic member is an integral part of the management team of the internal clients they support. The partner actively supports discussions and transfers best practices from different functions in the organization.


Essential Functions

  • Upholds the values and mission of the Tandem Hospital Partners family
  • Acts as a single point of the contact for the employees and managers in the regional business market
  • Proactively supports the delivery of HR Processes at the client’s side
  • Manages complex and difficult HR Projects cross-functionally
  • Builds a strong business relationship with the internal client base
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implement changes necessary to cover risks
  • Assists the recruiting team and local leadership in the identification needed to secure key talent
  • Facilitates the management team to bring best solutions for employees
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in people management
  • Designs succession plans for key talents and key job positions
  • Acts as the member of the HR Management Team
  • All other related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Five plus years’ experience in HR as a business partner
  • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, organizational design, finance, or HR.
  • Experience with multi-state HR administration and regulations a plus
  • Hospital HR experience desired.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrable and up to date technical knowledge and best practice in the key areas of Employment Law, Employee Relations, Resourcing and Talent Management, Learning & Development, Reward and Organization Development
  • Experience of partnering with senior management teams in a generalist HR role with a track record for building strong professional relationships and credibility
  • Experience of successfully leading a range of business enhancing projects in support of a wider HR strategy
  • Track record of contributing to the management of change successfully and experience of leading on restructuring programs
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and experience of applying it and advising on best practice HR within a complex business environment
  • Practical knowledge and skill in using a range of packages including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issue
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to present information and tell compelling stories in order to build senior management engagement around a range of HR initiatives

Kansas City, Kansas region.  Will also cover Leawood and Overland Park in addition to other Kansas locations as new hospitals open.


Travel Required

May require travel to various work sites across the United States, up to 30%
