Job Opportunity – Desktop Administrator

The Desktop Administrator is responsible for supporting and optimizing performance of Tandem Hospital’s systems, networks, workstations, hardware, and software; including installation, configuration, and preventative maintenance. S/he will also have the ability to plan, configure, and optimize new infrastructure components.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Upholds the values and mission of the Tandem Hospital Partners family
  • Installs, updates, maintain and support all network devices (servers, PCs, printers, terminals, telephones, network components, copiers, fax machines, etc.)
  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements hardware and software solutions.
  • Troubleshoots network, hardware and software issues and coordinates/escalates issues with appropriate staff or off-site assistance for problem resolution
  • Research, test, and install new software on a large scale
  • Develop training documents for team members
  • Manage and install encryption software, antivirus/spyware software and updates. Installs, configures, upgrades, migrates and supports PC software (including Windows 10, Mac OS, and Microsoft Office) for organizational PC users
  • Maintain Cisco video conference units in conference rooms, troubleshoot unit with vendor when needed
  • Configure VOIP, VM and soft phones through Configure Voicemail through Cisco Unity Connection.
  • Performs system administration functions for e-mail and phone systems
  • Log and track calls using problem management database and maintain history records and related problems documentation
  • Track hardware/software and inventory/assets
  • Monitor and manages printer supplies (orders items from vendor, troubleshoots, etc.)
  • Assist in coordinating security related activities (reporting non-compliant emails, managing access cards)
  • Sets up and deploys company owned cell phones
  • Acts as secondary contact for Infrastructure activities
  • Supports and adheres to all THP and industry information security policies
  • Participates in on-call rotation as needed
  • In a remote setting, provide after-hours help-desk support for hospital facilities and hospital staff.
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory for responsible facilities
  • Manage and maintain access control for numerous hospital facilities where security and access control are needed
  • Other duties as apparent or assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in MIS or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience supporting computers in an enterprise environment is required
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Microsoft technologies (OS, network, internet, office) experience

  • Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency
  • Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Travel Required

Up to 25% within US Markets

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Work primarily sedentary in nature.  No special physical demands are required to perform the work.  Work involves sitting, standing, kneeling, and stooping.
