Job Opportunity – A/P Accountant

Candidate supports the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions as well as being a liaison to the Central Billing Office as it pertains to a Hospital based Integrated Delivery System. This role interacts with operating department managers, marketing department and other employees to support the Finance/Accounting department with daily account payable duties





Essential Functions

  • Upholds the values and mission of the Tandem Hospital Partners family
  • Obtain and verify proper approval for payment of invoices, check requests, and employee expense reimbursement requests.
  • Accurately enter invoices, check requests, and employee expense reimbursement requests into the accounting software.
  • Code invoices and check requests to the appropriate GL account, location, department, and program.
  • Maintain good vendor relationships including timely responses to vendor calls.
  • Reconcile vendor statements to ensure that all outstanding invoices and credits have been investigated and resolved.
  • Responsible for vendor maintenance including the research of vendor inquiries, unidentified invoices, statements, etc.
  • Assist with other projects as needed to include administrative duties.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, CPA certification or eligible, MBA/MSA a plus
  • 4 - 10 years of combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience within a medium to large scale healthcare organization


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required as position interacts with vendors and internal departments
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills
  • Prior experience with MS Dynamics Great Plains is a plus
    internal controls and financial reporting, required
