Job Opportunity – Manager, Clinical Applications & Training


The Manager, Clinical Applications & Training is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of assigned information systems and solutions. This entails analysis, design and development of new software modules; advising, assisting, and training customers in the operation and administration of their systems; and collaborating with customers to enhance their work methodologies and tools. S/he is charged with ensuring the services that they provide contribute to the successful accomplishment of the primary mission of the department.


The Manager possesses sufficient technical expertise and clinical understanding to support an assigned application but may be called upon to assist with multiple applications. This role also supports the Project Management activities required to deliver valuable relevant solutions and assists in the development of project schedules, plans, and timelines.  S/he applies technical skills and clinical knowledge, in line with THP’s values and goals, to assure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality services.




Essential Functions

  • Upholds the values and mission of the Tandem Hospital Partners family
  • Understands clinical systems, answers technical questions and performs all assigned tasks
  • Use tools provided to develop and maintain applications, reports and other solutions
  • Translates customer requests into software application solution specifications, appropriate to assigned tasks.
  • Maintains detailed technical knowledge of assigned systems.
  • Thinks, plans, leads and acts appropriately in tactical settings.
  • Gather information and develop training material.
  • Work with internal clinical, operational and revenue cycle teams on workflows, build, testing and training.
  • Work with hospital partner clinical teams on workflows, build, testing and training.
  • Identifies issues and concerns and communicates them to the leadership team. Develops options and recommendations.
  • Assists customers with optimizing their use of assigned systems and specific project-driven tasks. Participates in application support as needed.
  • Provides training, support, and problem resolution to customers.
  • Other – Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Manager or Director.
  • Adhere to all THP policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.




Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred
  • Licensure in a clinical discipline, preferred
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Management Information Systems (MIS) and EHR systems
  • Technical experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation preferred
  • In depth knowledge of clinical hospital workflows and operations
  • Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System
  • Three (3) years’ experience in delivering didactic training to clinical end users and curriculum development
  • Basic working knowledge of application support, development tools and methodologies

May require travel to various work sites across the United States, up to 70%
