    Job OpportunityAccountant


    Candidate is responsible for providing support to department activities with specific responsibility of ensuring the accuracy of preliminary and final financial records. Contributes to the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis. Responding to inquiries and/or requests for data and/or reports; providing timely and accurate payroll production; and directing assigned employees.




    Essential Functions


    • Upholds the values and mission of the company.
    • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and debit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
    • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
    • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
    • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
    • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Prepares and/or review the accuracy of payroll related journal entries and performs account reconciliation .and analysis while ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and in compliance with company policies.
    • May assist in preparation of audit schedules and assist/coordinates audit of accounting statements/reports.
    • Support other accounting functions i.e. A/P, AR etc.
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned.





    Minimum Qualifications

    • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting
    • Advanced Degrees such as MBA/MSA/CPA a plus
    • 5 plus years of combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience within a medium to large scale healthcare/comparable organization

     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong knowledge US GAAP, labor contracts and their impact on payroll; and State Education Codes and other applicable County, State and Federal laws
    • Additional experience and techniques involved in payroll related accounting practices at the GL level
    • Preparing and maintaining accurate records
    • Excellent communication and supervisory skills are mandatory
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
    • Self-starter, problem solver, productive and efficient, professional, follow through from start to finish, results-oriented, and accurate
    • Sound judgment and a high level of integrity, with the ability to address sensitive and confidential information, and make good decisions under pressure
