    Job Opportunity – Credentialing Specialist, Medical Staff Services (Contract/Temporary)


    This position reviews medical and advanced practice applications in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, and CMS, NCQA, and DNV GL accreditation requirements including, peer assessment of competence for physicians and providers applying or reapplying for affiliation with Tandem Hospital Partners its affiliates or contracted entitles for which system provides credentialing services. Provides initial review and analysis of membership and privileges and compliance of requirements as defined by each entity.  Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of the philosophy and objectives of Tandem Hospital Partners initiatives.


    This position reports to the Manager, Medical Staff Services.






    Essential Functions

    • Upholds the values and mission of the company.
    • Previous healthcare experience in a medical staff office setting, provider enrollment, or in credentialing services environment.
    • Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or ability to obtain certification according to NAMSS pre- requisitions to obtain certification within 2 years of meeting eligibility requirements. Obtain/maintain certification according to the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS).
    • Ability to effectively interact and communicate orally and in writing with Medical Staff, Hospital Partners and employees and all levels of staff within the organization.
    • Excellent, organizational, independent judgment and critical-thinking skills required.
    • Familiarity with DNV GL regulations, physician credentialing or employment investigation principles and practices preferred.
    • Ability to interpret regulatory and accrediting standards for credentialing and medical staff services.
    • Management of high volumes, team work professionalism and flexibility necessary to be successful.





    Minimum Qualifications

    • Undergraduate Degree preferred
    • Minimum two years’ experience in physician credentialing, human resources, medical administration or legal office OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field
    • Proficient use of computer based medical staff programs, databases and Microsoft office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent written, verbal communication, organizational and strong interpersonal skills required.

    • Credentialing technical skills

    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
    • Ability to ensure privacy/confidentiality of employee information at all times.

    • Excellent time management skills, ability to work independently, detail oriented, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
