    Job Opportunity – Director, Financial Planning & Analysis


    The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will provide key, hands-on strategic, business and financial leadership throughout the Tandem Hospital Partners organization. This high visibility role will offer demonstrated experience and execution with financial analysis, modeling and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional who can collaborate and partner across Tandem Hospital Partner’s fast-paced organization including the executive team, department owners and program stakeholders.

    This newly created position is based in Houston, Texas and reports to the Vice President of Finance.




    Essential Functions

    • Uphold and promote the values and mission of the Tandem Hospital Partners family
    • Conduct complex modeling, analysis with scenarios, influencing internal business partners' decisions around strategic initiatives
    • Create and monitor (KPI's) key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
    • Design and prepare monthly management reports and presentation materials for Board of Directors and Management Team meetings
    • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
    • Participate in the financial modeling and due diligence efforts related to the company's ongoing build-out and developmental activities
    • Model potential changes to capital structure, acquisition and divestiture planning, shareholder returns
    • Drive organizational focus and establishment of long-term planning, partnering with the Accounting team on monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting processes
    • Drive preparation and delivery of financial management, reporting with clear communication around business drivers and future implications
    • Monitor competitive dynamics of the sectors (liaise with sector associates)
    • Partner and collaborate across multiple cross-functional departments and markets, including Executive Leadership to provide financial support/guidance necessary to drive alignment and sound decision making


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
    • Minimum 7 plus years’ progressive and professional experience in finance or accounting related areas preferably with public and private company experience in hospital/healthcare operations demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
    • Extensive financial reporting and analysis, forecasting, budgeting and planning experience
    • Excellent with Microsoft Office suite, primarily Excel
    • Significant experience managing people, with strong, professional communication and writing skills

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • MS Dynamics Great Plains experience a plus
    • Informatics experience a plus
    • Excellent understanding of the company goals and objectives
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and technical pronouncements
    • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Experience resolving issues through innovative problem solving and solution development
    • Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders across all levels and functions, from front-line teammates to senior management
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliverables within an entrepreneurial work setting
    • Proven track record of planning and flawlessly executing enterprise-wide communication programs with measurable results.
    • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, short timelines, among multiple priorities
    • An individual who is decisive and has the courage and confidence to inspire an organization through growth, change and periodic uncertainty
    • Strong track record handling confidential/sensitive company information and adhering to the highest ethical standards
    • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to be extremely effective independently
    • Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight budgets and schedules, and balancing multiple, concurrent projects in varying stages of implementation
    • Excellent organization skills, time management tactics and high level of attention to detail
